Congregar can be used to easily coordinate the availability of multiple parties to determine the best day and time to hold an upcoming event. Before apps like Congregar, coordinators would send out a mass email to everyone who was to be invited to gauge the best day for everyone. In response there would be a large number of emails blasting back and forth. For some of the recipients, they might even become frustrated with the amount of email chatter bouncing back and forth. This can all be avoided with Congregar which sends out a single invite to everyone. Invites can then go to the Congregar site, and indicate on a group calendar what day will work best for them. A poll will be tallied and then the coordinator can pick the best date based on consensus. No more email blasts full of conflicting information, negotiations and griping.
Congregar was designed and developed by EU Edge, a team of software professionals based out of Budapest in Hungary. It launched on November 5, 2008. It is a somewhat popular app since invites do not have to register or mess around in order to use the app.
As stated, there is no registration, and users can quickly see which date is trending to be the most favored. While they don't have as many features as other apps that do this like Doodle, the team at Congregar feel that their user interface is easier to use, and therefore more effective.
Congregar offers a clean design and the app is fast and responsive. It would be nice to have more features offered, however the basic things that Congregar does do are efficient. There were no bugs or issues encountered during this trial and the app ran as advertised.
For coordinators, they will just need to input their name and email address, a title and description of their event and they will need to indicate the date range or potential dates for the event. From there they can click on the create poll button. The coordinator can then send a special URL to the invites and ask them to participate in a poll for determining the best date. Invited parties do not have to register at all which is a great benefit.
Congregar is a free application for anyone to use.
Congregar is a solid tool for people to use in organizing events and determining a mutually accepted date and time for an upcoming meeting. Some people may want more features, but users of Congregar will appreciate the simplicity of the site and the easy-to-read and real-time polling capabilities.
